Part 7: Consuegra

Consuegra boasts that when Miguel Cervantes wrote Don Quixote, the novel’s satirical dragons (spoiler alert: they're actually windmills) were inspired by their town’s very own windmills.

That book was published in 1605. Over 400 years later, Consuegra's claim to fame remains their hilltop windmills that might have played a role in the epic Spanish Golden Age novel.

That’s 400 years of achieving nothing better than making a windmill that maybe inspired somebody else.

I'm still not sure if that's a testament to Cervantes' legacy or to how lame Consuegra is.
